INSTRUCTIONS

FRONT

Grannysquares
With hook 4 mm, work 9 granny squares followingChart 1, alternating the colors as you prefer or as shown in the photo, making sure to work the 5° round always with color white.
Starting from the 2°panel, while making the last round, join with the adjacent panel or panels, working sl sts in the points indicated in Chart 2.
Join the panels into a 3 x 3 grid.

Edge of granny square
The border is worked along the side edges and along the top edge of the square. With hook 4 mm, join the color white in a 2-ch corner space of the square, on the RS.

1aRow: 3 ch (count as 1adc here and forward), * 1 dc in each dc until the next 2-ch corner space, (1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc) in corner space *, rep** one more time, 1 dc in each dc until the next corner space, 1 dc in corner space, turn.

Rows 2a- 4a: 3 ch, * 1 dc in each dc until the next 2-ch corner space, (1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc) in corner space *, rep** one more time, 1 dc in each dc until the end, 1 dc in 3ach from the beginning of the previous row, turn.

Cut the yarn and close.

Neckline and shoulders
Join the color white in in the upper right corner of the border(RS) and work 4 rows following chart 2 and decreasing on the inside to create the neckline.Work symmetrically on the opposite side of the top edge of the border.

Note: chart 2 represents half of the upper part of the front.

Weave in all ends.

BACK

With needles6 mm, cast on 62 sts.

Rows 1°- 80°: work in stocking st.

Now start shaping the neckline.

81° Row:K 27, cast off 18 central sts, K 27.

Work the 2 sides separately.

82° Row and even rows:P all stitches.

83° Row:K all stitches working 1 SK2P (decrease) inside first st on the side of the neckline.

85° Row:cast off all sts

Repeat from row 82° to row 85° on the other side working the SK2P (at 83° row) symmetrically.

SLEEVE
With needles 5.5 mm cast on 32 sts, work 10 rows in 1/1 rib st.
Change to needles 6 mm and work in stocking st. until row 78°, increasing 1 st on both side on rows: 9, 15, 21, 27, 33, 39, 45, 51, 57, 63. [52 sts at the end of row 63°]

79° row:cast off all sts

Make the second sleeve

FINISHING
On WS, sew the shoulders, sew the top edge of each sleeve to the sides of the 2 joined panels (front and back).
For each sleeve, place the center of the top edge at the shoulder seam, then pin the first half of the edge to the side of the 1st panel and the second half to the side of the 2nd panel, then sew in place.
Sew underarms and sides.

Bottomhem: with circular needles 5.5 mm and color white, pick up evenly 158 sts along the bottom edge or the granny sweater and work 8 round in 1/1 ribs st., on round 9° cast off all sts.

Neck hem:with circular needles 5.5 mm and color white, pick up 51 sts along the neckline and purl 1 round

Rounds 2° - 5°:work in 1/1 rib st.

6° round:cast off all sts.

Weave in all ends.
