YARN: “Soffio Cashmere” by “Laines du Nord“ (balls: 25gr/70m)

Main color: 12 balls (cod. 2)
Color 1: 2 balls (cod. 6)
Color 2: 1 ball (cod. 15)

CIRCULAR NEEDLES: 8, 10 and 12 mm (cables 100 cm and 60 cm for sleeves)

OTHER: stitch markers, tapestry needle.

SAMPLE

11 stitches and 22 rows = 10 X10 cm in stocking st. with needles 10 mm. Adjust the needles size if it’s needed to achieve the correct gauge.

NOTES

This project is worked in rounds from the bottom up in one piece until the underarm. The upper part is worked back and forth in two separate pieces, front and back. Sleeves are worked together with the upper parts.

POINTS USED

Stocking st.; Garter st.

1/1 rib st: * K1, P1 * rep ** to the end; Next Round: work sts as they appear.

INSTRUCTIONS

With needles 8 mmcast on 120, insert the marker to mark beginning of row, SMb, and start to work in the round ensuring that the work is not twisted.

Rounds 1 - 6: * K1, P1 * rep ** to the end.

Change to needles 10 mm

Work in garter st. (Round 1: K; Round 2: P) until the sweater measures about 36 cm from the beginning.

FRONT [ 60 sts]

Now divide the work in two parts and work back and forth only on the first half of stitches. [60 sts]

Row 1 (RS): K 60, cast on 28 sts, turn. [88 sts]

Row 2 (WS): K 88, cast on 28 sts, turn. [116 sts]

Work in garter st. (K all rows) for the next 22 cm.

First shoulder (first 42 sts on needles)

Next row (RS): K 42, turn.

Last row (WS): K 42. Leave sts on hold.

Leave on hold the 32 central sts.

Second shoulder (last 42 sts on needles)

Next row (RS): K 42, turn.

Last row (WS): K 42. Leave sts on hold.

Work the 60 remaining sts on needle to form the Back.

BACK [60 sts]

Work as for the Front.

SHOULDER

Sew with the Kitchener Stitch the 42 stitches for each shoulder/sleeve, joining the front at the back.

Leave the central 32sts on hold for the neck.

Sew the lower sides of the sleeves. (28 sts)

SLEEVE CUFF (X2)

With needles 10 mm and MC pick up and knit 50 sts along the armhole.

Place SM at the underarm and start working in the round.

Work 4 rounds in garter st (Round 1: K; Round 2: P)

Change to C1

Work 2 rounds in garter

Change to needles 12 mm

Work 18 rounds in garter

Decrease round: K and decrease 8 sts evenly (K2tog). (42 sts)

Change to needles 8 mm

Rounds 1- 12: * K1, P 1 * rep ** to the end.

Cast off all sts.

Make the second sleeves.

NECK

Slip the 64 held stitches from holder to 8 mm needles and with C2 pick up and knit 4 sts on each side of the neck. (72 sts). Place SM and work in the round.

Rounds 1 - 6: * K1, P1 * rep ** to the end.

Loosely cast off.

POCKET

With C2 and needles 8 mm cast on 16 sts.

Work back and forth in stocking st(RS: K; WS: P) for the next 13 cm.

Loosely cast off.

Sew the pocket on the Front as shown in photo.

Weave in all ends. Wash and block garment carefully.
