INSTRUCTIONS

FRONT

Using size 3.5 mm needles, cast-on 80 sts. and, for band shaping, work 10 r. rib 1/1 (= 3 cm). Using size 4.5 mm needle work in stocking st. At 51st r. from rib band (21 cm approx.), on both edges, incr. 1 st., then incr. 1 st. every 4 r. 9 times, increasing across 55-59-63-67-71-75-79-83-87 r. Work 15 r. more on 100 sts. then, for shoulders and collar shaping, on both edges decr. 2 sts. as foll.:

93rd r. (RS): k3tog, k1 until last 3 sts., sk2p.

94th r. (WS): purl.

95th r. (RS): knit.

96th r. (WS): purl.

97th r. (RS): k3tog, k1 until last 3 sts., sk2p.

From 98th to 149th r.: rep. from 94th to 97th r., 14 times. [=40 sts.]

From 150th to 157th r.: rep 94th and 95th r., 4 times.

158th r.: rep. 94th r.

159th r.: bind off all sts. [=63 cm]

BACK

Like front.

SLEEVE (x 2)

Using size 3.5 mm needles, cast-on 46 sts. and for band shaping, work 12 r. rib 1/1 (= 3.5 cm). Using size 4.5 mm needles work in stocking st., incr. 1 st. on both edges 12 times across foll. r.: 1-7-13-19-25-31-37-43-49-55-61-67.

When piece measures 35 cm, bind off all sts.

Work the second sleeve like first one.

FINISHING

Sew on WS.

Using the darning needle, join the shoulder edges (front and back) and side edges of collar. Beg. from lower edge, sew sides 24 cm, leaving the sleeve openings (armholes). Sew undersleeves, then top edges of sleeves around the armhole edges.

Hide the ends on WS.
