BABY SOFT CAP
YARN = 1 ball of fuchsia n. 29 col. BABY SOFT by LAINES DU NORD

SKILL LEVEL: Easy
Work the dome shape cap top-down.
At beginning work in continue spiral sc (i.e. do not close every round with 1 sl st.). To make it easier, place 1 SM in first st. of every round, and move it upwards as you work. Then work second piece of cap in patterned stitch.
Chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet, treble crochet.
Increase: 2 sc into the same base stitch.
RS = right side of work
WS = wrong side of work

Procedure
Top part of crown.
Using Baby Soft yarn, shape a magic ring.
1st round (RS): 1 ch (do not count it like st.), 7 sc into the ring, pull the end to tighten the ring and then continue in spiral.
2nd round (RS): 1 incr. in every st. of the round. [14 sc]
3rd round: (1 sc, 1 incr. in next st.) 7 times. [21 sc]
4th round: 1 sc, 1 incr. in next st. (2 sc, 1 incr. in next st.) 6 times, 1 sc. [28 sc]
5th round: (3 sc, 1 incr. in next st.) 7 times. [35 sc]
6th round: 2 sc, 1 incr. in next st. (4 sc, 1 incr. in next st.) 6 times, 2 sc. [42
sc]
7th round: (5 sc, 1 incr. in next st.) 7 times. [49 sc]
8th round: 3 sc, 1 incr. in next st. (6 sc, 1 incr. in next st.) 6 times, 3 sc. [56 sc]
9th round: 1 sc in every st. of the round.
10th round: (7 sc, 1 incr. in next st.) 7 times. [63 sc]
11th round: 4 sc, 1 incr. in next st. (8 sc, 1 incr. in next st.) 6 times, 4 sc. [70 sc]
Second part of the crown (sides)
Work the open-work patterned st. according to diagram 2 too.
1st round: 1 sc in 1st sc of 11th round, * 1 ch, skip 4 sc, (1 tr, 2 ch, 1 tr, 2 ch, 1 tr, 2 ch, 1 tr) in next sc, 1 ch, skip 4 sc, 1 sc in next st. *, rep. from * to * 6 times more, (do not work last sc of last repetition), 1 sl st in 1st sc of the round. [7 fan motifs]
2nd round: 1 sl st in every st. until first 2-ch-space of next fan, 6 ch (instead of 1st tr and 3 ch), skip 1 tr and 1 2-ch-space, 1 sc in next tr, 3 ch, skip 1 2-ch-space and 1 tr, 1 tr in last space of same 2-ch- fan, * 1 tr in first 2-ch-space of next fan, 3 ch, skip 1 tr and 1 2-ch-space, 1 sc in next tr, skip 1 2-ch-space and 1 tr, 1 tr in last 2-ch-space of same fan, 2 ch * rep. from * to * 5 times more; 1 sl st in 4th of 3 beg. ch.
3rd round: 1 sl st in each of next 3 ch, * 1 sc in next sc 1 ch, skip 3 ch and 1 tr, (1 tr, 2 ch, 1 tr, 2 ch, 1 tr, 2 ch, 1 tr) in next 1-ch-space, 1 ch *, rep. from * to * 6 times more; 1 sl st in 1st sc of the round.
4th round: rep. 2nd round.
From 5th to 8th round: rep. from 1st to 4th round; take care that across the repetition of 1st round, you have to work the tr of the fans inside 2-ch-spaces lined-up with fans of 1st round.
From next round, work the band of cap.
9th round: 1 sc on 3rd beg. ch of previous row, then 2 sc in every 3-ch-space and in every 2-ch-space, 1 sc in every sc and in every tr; at the end of round do not close but continue in spiral.
10th and 11th round: 1 sc in every st. of the round.
12th round: 1 sl st in every st. of the round. Cut and tie off the yarn then hide the ends on WS.
