YARN = BABY SOFT FANCY by LAINES DU NORD, Size XS: 250 grams x col. 3
CIRCULAR NEEDLES = 3.5 mm and 3 mm tips with 80 cm cable.
OTHERS = stitch markers, darning needle, scissors, tape measure, waste yarn.

SHARE:

Work the garment bottom up, seamlessly, in the round up to the armholes, then flat (= in back-and-forth rows) from the armholes to the neckline. Work the finishing edges simultaneously with the garment. Graft the straps together invisibly. When instructed to place stitches on hold, transfer them onto waste yarn and tie the ends together to prevent losing any stitches.

Garter stitch in the round:
Round 1 (RS): knit.
Round 2 (WS): purl.
Always rep. rounds 1 and 2.

Procedure

FINISHING

Using a darning needle, graft the 8 sts on hold from the front straps to the 8 sts on hold from the corresponding back straps. Weave in all ends. Wet and block. Wear!

BODY (front and back up to the armholes)

Using circular needles with 3 mm tips and an 80 cm cable, cast-on 200 sts, close in the round, making sure all sts face the same direction. Place a b-SM to mark the beginning of the round and another SM after 100 sts to mark the side. Make sure to slip the b-SM and SM in each following round, as you work.

Work the lower band as foll:

Round 0: purl to the b-SM.

Round 1: knit to the b-SM.

Round 2: purl to the b-SM.

Rounds 3 to 6: work rounds 1 to 4 of the eyelet stitch in the round.

Rounds 7 to 10: rep (rounds 1 and 2) twice more.

Rounds 11 to 14: work rounds 1 to 4 of the eyelet stitch in the round.

Rounds 15 to 20: rep (rounds 1 and 2) 3 times more.






Switch to 3.5 mm needles and continue as foll:

Round 21: * p1, (yo, p2tog) 4 times, knit to the SM *, rep ** once more.

Round 22: knit.

Round 23: * p9, knit to the SM *, rep ** once more.

Round 24: knit.

Rounds 25 to 28: rep (rounds 23 and 24) twice more.

Rounds 29 to 148: rep (rounds 21 and 28) 15 times more.

Across round 31, decrease 1 st on each side of the garter and eyelet panel on both sides of the top. Then, rep the same decrease every 10 rounds for a total of 12 more times.

Rounds 149 to 155: rep rounds 21 to 27.

After completing the decreases, 148 sts remain in total.

Round 156: * k3, bind off 3 sts, k3, k65 *, rep ** once more, cut the yarn.

Slip 3 sts from the left needles to the right needle; turn.






Continue separately in back-and-forth rows over the 71 sts for the back and the opposite 71 sts for the front, skipping the 3 bound-off sts at each armhole, as foll:

Row 0 (WS): begin with the back sts and work k3, p65, k3; place the 71 (94) sts of the front on hold.
















TOP BACK

R 1: k2, skp, knit to the last 4 sts, k2tog, k2.

R 2: k3, purl to the last 3 sts, k3.

R 3 and 4: rep r 1 and 2.

R 5: knit.

R 6: k3, purl to the last 3 sts, k3.

R 7: k2, skp, knit to the last 4 sts, k2tog, k2.

R 8: k3, purl to the last 3 sts, k3.

R 9: knit.

R 10: k3, purl to the last 3 sts, k3.

R 11 to 22: rep (r 7 to 10) 3 times more.

R 23: knit.

R 24: k3, purl to the last 3 sts, k3.

R 25 and 26: rep r 23 and 24.

Switch to 3 mm needles to shape the neckline edge as foll:

R 27 to 33: knit.

R 34: k3, (yo, skp) rep to the last 4 sts, yo, skp, k2.

R 35 to 40: knit.

R 41: k8, bind off 43 sts, k8.

Place the 8 sts of each strap on hold; graft them to the front.
















TOP FRONT

Resume working on the 71 sts on hold for the front and continue as foll:

Row 0 (WS): begin with the back sts and work k3, p65, k3.

R 1 to 45: work as r 1 to 45 of the top back.

At the end, continue on the 8 sts on hold for the first strap.

R 42 to 64: k8.

At the end of r 64, place the 8 sts of the first strap on hold and work the second strap as given for the first one.
