INCA SWEATER
Yarn: Inca Cotton by LAINES DU NORD
Size S/M: 4 balls x 100 grams col. 06
Circular needles: 3.5 mm and 3 mm tips with 80 cm cable.
Short-tip circular needles: 3 mm tips with 40 cm cable.
Others: stitch markers, darning needle, scissors, tape measure, cable needle, waste yarn.
The body of the sweater is worked seamlessly from the bottom up. The sleeves are worked separately, also from the bottom up. The body and sleeves are joined during the yoke construction. The finishing edges are worked at the same time as the garment. Graft the seams invisibly for a seamless finish. When instructed to place stitches on hold, transfer them onto waste yarn and tie the ends together to prevent losing any stitches.
2x2 rib in the round:
Round 1: (k2, p2) rep to the b-SM.
Always rep the round 1.
Stockinette stitch in round: knit all r.
Stockinette stitch flat (or in back-and-forth r):
R 1 (RS): knit all sts.
R 2 (WS): purl all sts.
Always rep r 1 and 2.

Procedure
BODY (front and back up to the armholes)
Using circular needles with 3 mm tips and an 80 cm cable, cast on 200 sts, close in the round, ensuring the sts are not twisted. Place a b-SM to mark the beginning of the round and place an SM after 100 sts to mark the side. Now work the lower band in 2x2 rib.
Rounds 1 to 24 (RS): (k2, p2) rep to the b-SM; move the b-SM and SM up in each round as you work. [64 sts]
Switch to 3.5 mm needles and continue in stockinette st.
Rounds 25 to 89: knit all sts to the b-SM.
Round 90: bind off 5 sts for the first half of the first armhole, k90, bind off 10 sts for the second armhole, k90, bind off 5 sts for the second half of the first armhole. Cut the yarn and place all remaining sts on hold.
SLEEVES
Using circular needles with 3 mm tips and a 40 cm cable, cast on 64 sts, close in the round, ensuring the sts are not twisted. Place a b-SM to mark the beginning of the round. Begin working the lower band in 2x2 rib.
Rounds 1 to 24 (RS): (k2, p2) rep to the b-SM; move the b-SM up in each round as you work. [64 sts]
Switch to 3.5 mm needles and continue in stockinette stitch.
Rounds 1 to 113: knit, increasing 1 st on each side of the b-SM every 8 rounds, 14 times in total, specifically on rounds: 1, 9, 17, 25, 33, 41, 49, 57, 65, 73, 81, 89, 97. [92 sts at the end of the increases]
Round 114: bind off 5 sts, k82, bind off 5 sts.
Place all remaining sts on hold. Work the second sleeve as given for the first one.
YOKE
Join all sections onto a single needle by picking up the held stitches and setting up the work as follows: starting from the center front, place a b-SM, k44, (place a SM, k2tog, place a SM) for the 1st raglan, k80 for the 1st sleeve, (place a SM, k2tog, place a SM) for the 2nd raglan, k88 for the back, (place a SM, k2tog, place a SM) for the 3rd raglan, k80 for the 2nd sleeve, (place a SM, k2tog, place a SM) for the 4th raglan, k44 for the second part of the front sts.
Round 1: * knit to the 2 sts before the next SM, skp, s-SM, k1, s-SM, k2tog*, rep ** 3 more times, knit to the b-SM.
Round 2: knit all sts.
Rounds 3 to 34: rep rounds 1 and 2.
Round 35: * knit to the 2 sts before the next SM, skp, s-SM, k1, s-SM (k2tog) twice, knit to the 4 sts before the next SM, (skp) twice, s-SM, k1, s-SM, k2tog *, rep ** once, knit to the b-SM.
Round 36: knit all sts to the b-SM.
Round 37: * knit to the 2 sts before the next SM, skp, s-SM, k1, s-SM, k2tog *, rep ** 3 more times, knit to the b-SM.
Round 38: knit to the b-SM.
Round 39: * knit to the 2 sts before the next SM, skp, s-SM, k1, s-SM, (k2tog) twice, knit to the 4 sts before the next SM, (skp) twice, s-SM, k1, s-SM, k2tog *, rep from ** once, knit to the 6 sts before the next SM, knit to the 6 sts before the next b-SM, place a SM.
Switch to working flat in stockinette st to shape the neckline.
R 40 (WS): purl to the 6 sts before the b-SM, place a SM, turn.
R 41 (RS): knit to the 2 sts before the next SM, skp, s-SM, k1, s-SM, k2tog * rep from * a * 3 more times, knit to the 4 sts before the next b-SM, place a SM.
R 42 (WS): purl to the 4 sts before the next b-SM, place a SM, turn.
R 43 (RS): * knit to the 2 sts before the next SM, skp, s-SM, k1, s-SM, (k2tog) twice, knit to the 4 sts before the next SM, (skp) twice, s-SM, k1, s-SM, k2tog *, rep ** once, knit to the 3 sts before the b-SM, place a SM.
R 44 (WS): purl to the 3 sts before the b-SM, place a SM, turn.
R 45 (RS): knit to the 2 sts before the next SM, skp, s-SM, k1, s-SM, k2tog * rep from * to * 3 more times, knit to the 2 sts before the b-SM, place a SM.
R 46 (WS): purl to the 2 sts before the b-SM, place a SM, turn.
R 47 (RS): * knit to the 2 sts before the next SM, skp, s-SM, k1, s-SM, (k2tog) twice, knit to the 4 sts before the next SM, (skp) twice, s-SM, k1, s-SM, k2tog *, rep ** once, knit to 1 sts before the b-SM, place a SM.
R 48 (WS): purl to 1 sts before the b-SM, place a SM, turn.
R 49 (RS): knit to the 2 sts before the next SM, skp, s-SM, k1, s-SM, k2tog * rep from * to * 3 more times, knit to 1 st before the b-SM, place a SM.
R 50 (WS): purl to 1 st before the b-SM, place a SM, turn.
Resume working in the round.
R 51(RS): * knit to the 2 sts before the next SM, skp, s-SM, k1, s-SM, (k2tog) twice, knit to the 4 sts before the next SM, (skp) twice, s-SM, k1, s-SM, k2tog *, rep ** once more, knit to 1 st before b-SM.
R 52: (knit to the next SM, remove the SM) twice. At the end, place a b-SM at this point, switch to 3 mm needles, and continue working 2x2 rib for the neckline band.
Rounds 1 to 8: (k2, p2) rep to the b-SM.
Work the next round in crossed sts using a cable needle.
Round 9: * k1, place the next st on a cable needle and hold at front, p1, k1 from the cable needle, p1 *, rep ** to the end of the round.
To complete the neckline band work 2 rounds in tubular st.
Round 10: (k1, slip 1 st p-wise) rep to the end of the round.
Round 11: (slip 1 st k-wise, p1) rep to the end of the round.
Graft all sts using a darning needle.
FINISHING
Graft the underarm seams. Weave in all ends. Wet and block. Wear!
