Procedure

PATTERN
Back
Using size 5 mm knitting needle, cast-on 53 sts and, for band shaping, work 4 r rib 1x1 then, using size 6.5 mm knitting needles, cont in garter
st. After working 7 r, on both edges, incr 1 st every 4 r 16 times, then incr across foll r: 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64,
68; at last, there are 85 sts.
Note: due to the type of yarn, it’s difficult to count stitches and rows. We recommend placing 1 SM on both sides at every increase. Continue
working 32 rows then, on both sides, decrease as follow, remembering to place a SM at the beginning and end of each decrease row: (1 stitch
every 2 rows twice and 1 stitch every 2 rows once) —3 times then, always on both edges (2 stitches every 2 rows once and 1 stitch every 2
rows twice) — twice; after decreasing there are 51 stitches.
For top of the sleeves and shoulders shaping, bind off, on both edges every 2 rows, as follow: 2, 3, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2. At last bind off the 17 central
stitches for the back neckline.
Pockets (x 2)
Using 6 mm knitting needles and a waste yarn, cast on 16 stitches and work 4 rows in stockinette stitch. Then switch to Piuma Alpaca yarn and
work 60 rows in stockinette stitch. Finally, leave the stitches on a stitch holder. Leave the pockets aside.
Right front
Using size 5 mm knitting needles, cast on 31 stitches and, for band shaping, work 4 rows in rib 1x1. Switch to 6.5 mm knitting needles and
continue in garter stitch.
After working 7 rows, only on the left side, increase as done for the back.
At the same time, 52 rows from 1x1 rib band, count 15 stitches from the center front and bind off the next 16 stitches. Across back row, at 16
bound-off stitches, work the 16 stitches (of one pocket) off of the stitch holder. Continue in garter stitch, decreasing and increasing only on left
side, as giving for the back. For neckline shaping, at 140 rows from the bottom, on the right (front center) bind off every 2 rows in the following
sequence: 4, 3, 3, 3, 2, 1, then continue until the shoulder is completed. At the same time, on the left side, for top of sleeve and shoulder
shaping, bind off the stitches as given for back.
Left front
Work as given for the right front, reversing the decreases, increases and bind off shaping.
FINISHING
Pockets band: Using a knitting needle, pick up the stitches along the opening edge of the pocket on one front panel. Gently remove the waste
yarn from the pocket and move the stitches onto a second knitting needle. Put the two knitting needles besides, and using a third 5 mm knitting
needle, work rib 2x2 picking up 1 stitch from each knitting needle. Continue working the 16 stitches for a total of 8 rows, then bind off all
stitches, leaving a long tail for sewing. Work the band of second pocket as give for this one. Sew the sides of each pocket, then sew the side
edges of the two rib bands on two front panels.
Sew all seams on the wrong side (WS).
Sew the upper shoulder/sleeve edges of the two fronts to the corresponding stitches of the back.
Sleeves band: using size 5 mm knitting needles, pick-up 56 stitches along the central section consisting of 64 stitches (32 stitches on each
side of the shoulder/sleeve seam) and work 15 cm in rib 2x2. At the end, bind off all stitches as they appear.
Repeat on the opposite side.
Weave in all ends.
Sew the side and undersleeve seams of rib band.
Using size 4.5 mm crochet-hook work 2 rounds in single crochet around the opening edge of two fronts and around the edge of the neckline.
Weave in all ends.**

INSTRUCTIONS
The cape-coat is S/M size, but it can fit different sizes thanks to its loose fit.
The garment consists of 3 panels (2 fronts and 1 back), worked down-top.
At last you join the bands and pockets.
