LINILK SHORT-SLEEVE SWEATER

DIFFICULTY = Intermediate

Yarn = LINILK by LAINES DU NORD Size S (M-L-XL): 250 (275-300-325) grams, col 13; 50 (55-60-65) grams, col 1
Circular needles = size 3- and 3.5- mm points, 60- 80- and 120- cm cable
Other = darning needle, stitch marker, scissors, tape measure.

SHARE:

10 x 10 cm = 20 stitches and 30 rows in stockinette stitch using size 3.5 mm points.

It is very important to check your gauge and measure the tension correctly to achieve the same results and measurements as the pattern. If the gauge is different, try adjusting the needle size up or down by half a size until you get the correct measurement.

Invisible closing in round: slip 1st st purl wise from left to right needle. Pass the last st over the slipped st and drop it. Pull the cast-on tail to tighten the st. Place one SM (BOR) to mark the beginning and the end of the round and take care to move it across every round.

Rib 1x1 in the round
Round 1 and next rounds (RS): (k1, p1) rep until the end of the round.

Stockinette stitch in the round
Round 1 and next rounds (RS): knit.

Stockinette stitch in flat

COLLAR AND YOKE

Note: as you work, move the SM (BOR) at beginning of every next round.

Using size 3.5 mm points, 60 cm cable and blue yarn, cast-on 100 (104-108-112) sts, close in the round and place 1 SM (BOR). For collar shaping, work 7 rounds in rib 1x1 and, at the same time, across round 7, work 49 (51-53-55) sts rib 1x1, place one SM, k1, 1 SM, 49 (51-53-55) sts rib 1x1, place 1 SM, k1, place 1 SM; the SM mark the shoulders shaping.

Round 8: using cream yarn k49 (5l-53-55), move the SM, 1 left incr, k1, move the SM, 1 right incr, k49 (51-53-55), move the SM, 1 left incr, k1, move the SM, 1 right incr.

Round 9: continuing with cream yarn, purl until the SM, move the SM, 1 left incr, p1, move the SM, 1 right incr, purl until the next SM, move the SM, 1 left incr, p1, move the SM, 1 right incr.

Switch to blue yarn.

Round 10: knit until the SM, move the SM, 1 left incr, k1, move the SM, 1 right incr, until the next SM, move the SM, 1 left incr, k1, move the SM, 1 right incr.

Round 11 to 13: rep the round 10.

Switch to cream yarn

Round 14: rep the round 10.

Round 15: rep the round 9.

Switch to blue yarn.

Round 16 to 32: rep the round 10.

Switch to cream yarn.

Round 33: rep the round 10.

Round 34: rep the round 9.

Round 35 to 51: rep round 16 to 32 once (once-twice-twice).
















Work front and back separately (leave the st between 2 SM of both sides). Leave the stitches of the back over a waste yarn and work the front in back-and-forth rows.
















UPPER FRONT (with armholes)

R 1: knit with cream yarn.

R 2: knit.

Switch to blue yarn.

R 3 (RS): knit.

R 4 (WS): purl.

Round 5 to 16: rep round 3 and 4, 6 times.

Rep r 1 to 16, once (once-twice-twice).

Switch to cream yarn and shape the armholes.

R 33 (33-49-49): k1, 1 left incr, knit until second last st, 1 right incr, k1.

R 34 (34-50-50): k1, 1 left incr, knit until second last st, 1 right incr, k1.

Switch to blue yarn.

R 35 (35-51-51): k1, 1 left incr, knit until second last st, 1 right incr, k1.

R 36 (36-52-52): p1, 1 right incr, purl until second last st, 1 left incr, p1.

R 37 (37-53-53) to 40 (40-58-58): rep last 2 rows, 2 (2-3-3) times.

Leave the stitches over a waste yarn
















UPPER BACK (with armholes)

Pick up the sts you have left at the end of the round 51 of the yoke and work as given for upper front. After working the r 40 (40-58-58), join front and back using the 120 cm cable.
















BODY

Using the blue yarn, work all the sts in the round and place and move 1 SM (BOR) at beginning of every round.

Round 1 to 13: knit.

Switch to cream yarn.

Round 14: knit.

Round 15: purl.

Switch to blue yarn.

Round 16 to 31: knit.

Switch to cream yarn.

Round 32 and 33: rep round 14 and 15.

Switch to blue yarn.

Round 34 to 50: knit.

Switch to cream yarn.

Round 51 and 52: rep round 14 and 15.
















Only for the sizes L and XL: rep round 34 to 52, once.
















For all sizes: using blue yarn knit 4 rounds, switch to cream yarn and work

1 round in knit st and 1 round in purl st.
















Lower band: using blue yarn and size 3 mm points, work 11 rounds rib 1x1. Bind off all sts loosely.
















SHORT SLEEVES

Using size 3.5 mm points, 80 cm cable and blue yarn, pick-up 58 (62-66-66) sts around the armholes and work in the round with the magic loop technique.

Round 1 to 17: knit.

Switch to cream yarn.

Round 18: knit.

Round 19: purl.

Round 20 to 38: rep round 1 to 19; fir all sizes.

Switch to blue yarn

Round 39 to 44: knit.

Switch to cream yarn.

Round 45: knit.

Round 46: purl.
















Cuff: using blue yarn and size 3 mm points, work 9 rounds rib 1x1.

Bind off all sts loosely.

Tie off the threads.
















Work one sleeve around the second armhole.

Work the sweater in the round seamlessly using the top-down technique. Work the sleeves in the round using the magic loop technique. The instructions below are written for size S. For the M-L-XL sizes refer to the number in brackets.
