Procedure

OVAL BASE

Work the oval base in single crochet in spiral, as follows:

Chain 13.

Insert the crochet hook into the second chain from the hook and work in single crochet in each chain until the last one = 11 single crochets.

In the last chain, work 3 single crochets, shaping the first curve of the oval. You can place a stitch marker in the first of these three stitches to mark this first curve of the oval.

On side opposite the starting chain, work one single crochet in each stitch = 11 single crochets.

In the last chain (the starting one), work 3 single crochets to shape the second curve. You can place a stitch marker in the first of these three stitches to mark this second curve of the oval.

You have worked the first round. Continue in spiral.

Across the second round, work one single crochet in each stitch along the straight side. At the curve (three central stitches), work an increase in each of these stitches, working 2 single crochets in the same stitch three times. Then continue with one single crochet in each stitch along the opposite side and repeat the same in the second curve, working three increases.

From the third round onwards, work like above: along the sides always work one single crochet in each stitch, while in the two curves distribute three increases on each side (six total increases each round). At each round, add one single crochet between one increase and the next.

Work the curves as follows:

  • across the third round work in the curve (1 single crochet, one increase) repeated three times;
  • across the fourth round (2 single crochets, one increase) three times;
  • across the fifth round (3 single crochets, one increase) three times;
  • across the sixth round (4 single crochets, one increase) three times;
  • across the seventh round (5 single crochets, one increase) three times.

The increases are at the ends of the oval, and the base grows regularly and flat. At the end of the seventh round, the oval base consists of 64 total single crochets.

Continue working the main part of the bag.

BAG BODY

Work 22 rounds in single crochet in spiral, without increases. Move the first stitch marker upwards always to mark the beginning of the round. After working 22 rounds DO NOT cut the yarn.

CLICK CLACK ASSEMBLING

Flatten the bag and mark the 3 side stitches and the 21 stitches of the front and the back. Insert stitch markers at beginning and end of these stitches.

Join the click clack in single crochet

Be careful to fix the 3 side stitches (previously marked) at each side of the clasp (where it folds) and secure the 21 central stitches with clips to the front and the back of the clasp.

Place the click clack on the edge of the bag.

Fix the clasp correctly and centered; be careful to fix the 3 side stitches (previously marked) at each side of the clasp (where it folds) and secure the 21 central stitches in the fronts of the click clack.

Secure the work with clips to the front and the back of the clasp, to block it during the work.

Put the ball of yarn inside the bag, and with bag in front of you and the click clack open, start from the right inserting the hook into the first stitch after the 3 side stitches where the yarn is located, pull out the loop, hook the yarn from inside passing over and around the tube of the click clack, and work a single crochet.

Work the next single crochet in the same way: insert the hook, pull out the loop, hook the yarn passing over and around the tube of the click clack and work a single crochet. Work one single crochet in the same stitch in the same way. Continue alternating one single crochet in one stitch, two single crochets in the next stitch. When you have reached the end of the first clasp, work 3 slip stitches on the 3 side single crochets (marked before). Continue working the single crochets as above, wrapping around the tube of the clasp until closing the second part of the clasp as well, work 3 slip stitches on the last 3 stitches (marked before). You have secured the clasp solidly and uniformly, keeping the edge of the bag regular and smooth.

Hide the yarn tails.

KNITTING INSTRUCTIONS
