Procedure
BACK AND FRONT
Chain 75 plus 3 chains that count as the first double crochet of the first row (always work 3 turning chains).
ROW 1
The first double crochet is given by the 3 turning chains. 5 double crochets in the 5 base chains, skip 2 stitches, 6 double crochets, 2 chains, 6 double crochets (do not skip stitches); continue from * to *, end with 6 double crochets.
ROW 2
3 chains, 2 double crochets together (decrease), 3 double crochets and 1 double crochet in the chain space, 2 chains, 1 double crochet always in the same chain space, 5 double crochets in the base stitches, skip 2 stitches, 5 double crochets, 1 double crochet in the chain space, 2 chains and 1 double crochet always in the same chain space, 5 double crochets in the base stitches, skip 2 stitches, 5 double crochets, then 1 double crochet in the chain space, 2 chains and 1 double crochet always in the same chain space, 5 double crochets in the base stitches, skip 2 stitches, 5 double crochets, then 1 double crochet in the chain space, 2 chains and 1 double crochet always in the same chain space, 5 double crochets in the base stitches, skip 2 stitches, 5 double crochets, 1 double crochet in the chain space, 2 chains and 1 double crochet always in the same chain space, 5 double crochets in the base stitches, skip 2 stitches, 2 double crochets, 2 double crochets in the same stitch (increase), 1 double crochet, 1 double crochet in the third chain of the row below (i.e. first turning double crochet).

ROW 4 AND NEXT ROWS
From row 4, repeat row 2 and row 3 up to 30 rows (for different sizes, increase or decrease the number of rows).
LAST ROW
After working all the above rows, two filling rows giving the finishing touch at the waves.
First filling row:
1 Turning chain, 2 single crochets, 1 half double crochet,
3 double crochets, 2 half double crochets, 6 single crochets, 2 half double crochets
and repeat from * to * until the end.
Second filling row:
1 Turning chain, single crochet until the end of the row.
If necessary, decrease every 6 single crochets (to avoid the last row being too loose).
SLEEVES
(Be careful: the wave stitch is slightly different at beginning and end of each row compared to the front/back.)
Chain 55 plus 3 turning chains that count as the first double crochet of the first row.
ROW 1
5 double crochets in the 5 base chains, skip 2 stitches, 6 double crochets, 2 chains, 6 double crochets (do not knit stitches); continue from * to * and end with 6 double crochets.
ROW 2
3 chains that count as the first double crochet, 1 double crochet at the base of the three chains, 4 double crochets, skip 2 stitches, 5 double crochets in the five double crochets below, 1 double crochet in the chain space, 2 chains and 1 double crochet always in the same chain space, 5 double crochets, skip 2 stitches, 5 double crochets, 1 double crochet in the chain space, 2 chains and 1 double crochet in the chain space, 5 double crochets, skip 2 stitches, 5 double crochets, 1 double crochet in the chain space, 2 chains and 1 double crochet always in the chain space, 5 double crochets, skip 2 stitches, 3 double crochets, 2 double crochets in the same stitch (increase), 1 double crochet.
Work 29 total rows from the beginning (always repeating row 2) and end with 2 filling rows.
LAST ROW
First filling row:
1 turning chain, 2 single crochets, 1 half double crochet,
3 double crochets, 2 half double crochets, 6 single crochets, 2 half double crochets
and repeat from * to * until the end.
End with 3 single crochets.
Second filling row:
1 turning chain, single crochets until the end of the row.
If necessary, decrease every 6 single crochets (to avoid the last row being too loose).
FINISHING
- Join the front and back sideways, leaving the armholes opening.
- Sew the two shoulders, leaving the neck opening.
- Sew the two sleeves lengthwise and then join them at the sweater.
- The wave pattern is at the bottom of the main body and at the cuffs of the sleeves. Where the filling rows were worked, sew the shoulders and join the sleeves to the main part of the sweater
