It is very important to check your gauge and measure the tension correctly to achieve the same results and measurements as the pattern. If the gauge is different, try adjusting the needle size up or down by half a size until you get the correct measurement.

Join in the round: slip first stich purl-wise from left to right needle, pass the last stich over the slipped stitch and drop it, pull the cast-on end tightening the stitch, place one SM (SM (BOR)) to mark the beginning and the end of the round; take care to move it at every round.

Slip the front sts on hold on waste yarn and begin working the back.

Row 1 (WS): p1, M1Lp, purl until 1 st before end of row, M1Rp, p1.

Row 2 (RS): knit.

Work 13,5 (14.5 - 15 – 16.5) cm in stockinette flat

Back neck and shoulders shaping, using size 3 mm tips and short row technique wrap and turn

Row 1 (WS): 2x2 rib until 4 stitches before the end of the row, wrap and turn.

Row 2 (RS): 2x2 rib until 4 sts before the end of the row, wrap and turn.

Row 3 (WS): 2x2 rib until 4 sts before the wrapped st, wrap and turn.

Row 4 (RS): 2x2 rib until before the wrapped st, wrap and turn.

Repeat rows 3 and 4, 7 (7 -8-8) more times.

After working the repetitions, continue as follows:

Row 1 (WS): purl the wrapped stitches of the left shoulder, 2x2 rib for the neck section, purl the wrapped stitches of the right shoulder

Row 2 (RS): knit the wrapped stitches of the left shoulder, 2x2 rib for the neck section, knit the wrapped stitches of the right shoulder

Row 3 (WS): purl the wrapped stitches of the left shoulder, 2x2 rib for the neck section, purl the wrapped stitches of the right shoulder.

Slip the stitches on waste yarn.

FRONT:

Work as given for the back.

Join both shoulders using the three-needle bind-off technique: distribute the sts of back and front shoulder over two different knitting needles, put them beside and using a third knitting needle bind off the sts picking up 1 st from each knitting needle.

Continue in the same way with the next stitch: each new worked stitch will be passed over the previous one on the third needle; you obtain a soft and smooth chain edge. Continue to bind off all stitches loosely.

After working the last stitch, cut the yarn leaving a few centimeters of tail and pass it through the last loop to secure the bind-off firmly.

COLLAR:

Pick up the neckline stitches and using size 3 mm tips and 60 cm cable work in 2x2 rib

When dividing the work into 2x2 ribs, there are 4 purl sts on both the right shoulder and the left shoulder. Purl them (8 rounds). Across round 9, once reached that point, work p2tog and again p2tog to have a uniform 2x2 rib and a better shaping of the neck.

Continue working 32 rounds in 2x2 rib.

After working 32 rounds in rib 2x2, at the position of the 2 purl sts of the shoulders, increase 2 stitches in purl (2 sts each side).

Work the stitches as they appear for 8 rounds.

Bind off all stitches loosely.

SLEEVES:

Using size 3.5 tips, 80 cm cable and color 18, starting from the armhole, pick up 52 stitches as follows: 2 sts from the undersleeve, 48 (54 - 60 - 60) sts from the armhole, 2 sts from the undersleeve, insert the SM of beginning an end round.

Work 66 rounds for size S in knit.
