Procedure

With needles 8 mm and C1 cast on 48stitches, place SMb and start to work in the round.

Rounds 1 - 6: work in 2/2 rib st. as follows:

* K2, P2 * rep **

Round 7: K all stitches.

Round 8: place the stitch markers that mark the shoulders increases as follows:

MPb, K4, place SM, K22 (front) , place SM, K4, place SM, K18 (back).

Round 9: KFB,K to 1 st before SM, KFB, sSM , KFB, K to 1 st before SM, KFB, sSM, KFB, K to 1 st before SM, KFB, sSM, KFB, K to 1 st before SM, KFB. (= 8 sts increased)

Round 10: K all stitches.

Repeat Rounds 9 and 10 another 2 times.

Round11: place the two stitch markers that mark the CHART in the front of the sweater (= SMc). We recommend using another color for these stitch markers.

Work as follows:

K10, sSM, K1, place SMc, follow CHART for the next 26 sts, place SMc, K1, sSM, K10, sSM, K to the end. (72 sts)

In these 26sts (sts just marked by the two SMc) always follow the CHART from right to left and from the bottom-up

Round 12: KFB, K to 1 st before SM, KFB, sSM, KFB, K to SMc,sSMc, follow CHART (26 sts), sSMc, K to 1 st before SM, KFB, sSM, KFB, K to 1 st before SM, KFB, sSM, KFB, K to 1 st before SMb, KFB.(= 8 sts increased)

Round 13: K all stitches excluded the 26 stitches marked by the two stitch markers of the chart, SMc, where you'll follow the CHART.

Repeat Rounds 12 and 13 another 12 (13, 14) times.

Change to C2

Repeat Rounds 12 and 13 another 3 (4, 5) times

Place the sts for each sleeve onto holder or scrap yarn as follows:

Place40 (44, 48) sts onto holder or scrap yarn( first sleeve), K to SMc, sSMc, follow (26 sts), sSMc, K to SM, place 40 (44, 48) sts onto holder or scrap yarn( second sleeve), K to the end.

NOW YOU START WORKING THE BODY OF THE SWEATER

With C2 work 16 rounds in stocking st. = K all stitches excluded the 26 stitches marked by the two stitch markers of the chart, SMc, where you'll continue to follow the CHART.

Change to C3 and work 23 rounds in stocking st = K all stitches excluded the 26 stitches marked by the two stitch markers of the chart, SMc, where you'll continue to follow the CHART.

Hem

Rounds 1 - 12 : work in 2/2 rib st. as follows:

* K2, P2 * rep **

Loosely cast off.

SLEEVES ( X 2)

All sizes S (M,L):

Slip the40 (44, 48) held stitches from holderto 8 mm needles (using the short cable). With C2 pick up and knit 2 underarm sts,place the SM in the middle of the underarm sts and start working in the round as follows.

Rounds 1 - 4: K all stitches.

Round 5: K and decrease 2 sts (K2tog)

Rounds 6 - 9: K all stitches.

Round 10: K and decrease 2 sts (K2tog)

Rounds 11 - 12: K all stitches.

Change to C3

Rounds 13 - 23: K all stitches.

Round 24: K and decrease 2 sts (K2tog)

Rounds 25 - 45: K all stitches.

Round 46: decrease evenly 8 sts (K2tog)

Change to C1

Cuff

Rounds 1 - 12: work in 2/2 rib st. as follows:

* K2, P2 * rep **

Cast off all stitches.

MAKE THE SECOND SLEEVE

Weave in all ends. Wash and block garment carefully.
