INSTRUCTIONS

At beginning, work the square motifs for the sleeves.

GRANNY MOTIF (x 18)

Using a colour of your choice, shape a magic ring.

1st round: 3 ch (instead of 1st tr of every r.), 2 tr inside the ring, 2 ch, (3 tr in the ring, 2 ch) 3 times; pull the end of the yarn and close the ring, 1 sc in 3rd beg. ch. Cut the yarn and close.

Continue following the diagram 1, using a colour of your choice for 2nd, 3rd and 4th round. Always work the 5th round using col. grey.

SMALL GRANNY MOTIF (x 16)

Using a colour of your choice work 3 rounds following the diagram 2. Work the 2nd round using a colour of your choice. Always work the 3rd round using col. grey.

SOLID GRANNY MOTIF (x 8)

Using a colour of your choice work 5 rounds following the diagram 2. Work the 2nd, 3rd and 4th round using a colour of your choice. Always work the 5th round using col. grey.

ASSEMBLING OF TWO SLEEVES-PANELS

For assembling each panel, place the motifs like shown by the diagram 4 or as you like. Using no. 4 crochet-hook and grey yarn, on RS, join the adjacent edges in sc, inserting the crochet-hook into the back thread of each couple of sts. At last, on WS, using the darning needle, sew the side edges (short sides), close the sleeve in cylinder shape. Hide the ends inside the fabric.

RIGHT FRONT

Using no. 5 knitting needles and grey col., cast-on 40 sts. and work 98 r. in stocking stitch. Across the 99th r. bind off all sts.

Cut the yarn and close, then hide the ends inside the fabric.

Rib lower band

Using no. 4 crochet-hook, on WS, join the grey yarn at 1st st. of lower edge of stocking-stitch-panel.

1st row (WS): 2 ch (= 1st st.), 1 tr in same base st. of 2 ch and in each of 39 next sts., 2 turning ch (never count the 2 turning ch).

2nd row (RS): for 1st selvage shaping, work 1 tr in first st., (1 FPtr around next st., 1 BPtr around the next st.) across the entire r., at last, for 2nd selvage shaping, work 1 tr in last st.; 2 turning ch.

3rd row: 1 tr in first tr (selvage), work the raised sts. as they appear, i.e., 1 FPtr around 1 FPtr, 1 BPtr around 1 BPtr, 1 tr in last tr (selvage), 1 turning ch.

From 4th to 18th row: rep. the 3rd row.

Cut the yarn and close, hide the ends inside the fabric.

LEFT FRONT

Work as given for right front, included the band.

BACK

Using no. 5 knitting needles and grey yarn, cast-on 80 sts. and work 98 r. in stocking stitch. Across the 99th r. bind off all sts. in knit st.

Cut the yarn and close, hide the ends inside the fabric.

Rib lower band

Using no. 4 knitting needles, on WS, join the grey yarn in 1st st. of lower edge of stocking-stitch-panel, then work from 1st to 18th row as given for lower band of right front.

FINISHING

Using the grey yarn, on WS, sew the shoulder and side seams, leaving the openings for armholes shaping, according to the circumference of the sleeves.

Rib-front-bands of 2 fronts

1st row (WS): using no. 4 crochet-hook, on WS, join the grey yarn in the top corner (neckline) of front edge of right front, and work 2 ch (do not count like 1st st.), 1 tr in the same base st. of 2 ch, 85 tr along the edge of right front uniformly, 2 turning ch (never count the 2 turning ch).

From 2nd to 5th row: work as given for lower band of right front. Cut the yarn and close.

On WS, join the grey yarn in lower corner of left front and, working along the left front edge, rep. from 1st to 5th row of rib-band of right front edge.

Rib-cuff of the sleeves

1st round (RS): using no. 3.5 crochet-hook, join the grey yarn on seam of lower edge of the sleeve (RS) and work 1 ch (do not count like 1st st., also in next round), 56 dc around the lower edge uniformly; close with 1 sc in 1st dc of the round.

2nd round: 1 ch, 1 dc in same base st. of the ch, and in each dc of the round; 1 sc in 1st dc of the round. [56 dc]

3rd round: 2 ch (do not count like 1st st., also in next rounds), 1 tr in same base st. of 2 ch and in each dc of the round; 1 sc in 1st tr. [56 tr]
