YARN = 2 balls col. 20, 1 ball col. 30 of MERINO YAK by LAINES DU NORD
YARN = 1ball each col.: 3031 and 3010 CASHSILK LIGHT by LAINES DU NORD,
INTERCHANGEABLE CIRCULAR NEEDLES = size 5-, 6- and 6.5-mm points, 60 cm cable.
OTHERS = stitch marker, darning needle, scissors, tape measure.

SHARE:

Work the cape top-down in round, beginning from neck until the colour chainging, then continue in back-and-forth rows. Work each piece using Merino Yak and Cashsilk light yarn together (double yarn), coupling the colours like below.

Rib 1/1 in round:
1st round (RS): (k1, p1) rep. across the entire round and every next round.
2nd round and next rounds (WS): work the sts. as they appear.

Rib 1/1 in back-and-forth rows:
1st r. (RS): (k1, p1) rep. across the entire r.
2nd r. (WS): work the sts. as they appear
Always rep. the 1st and 2nd r.

Stocking stitch in round: every round in knit st.
Stocking stitch in back-and-forth rows: odd r. (RS) in knit st., even r. (WS) in purl st.

WS = wrong side of work
SMb = beginning stitch marker
SM =stitch marker

Procedure

FINISHING
Hide the ends. Wet and block. Wear!

Using double yarn (Merino yak col. 20 Cashsilk col. 3031) and circular needles with size 5 mm points, cast-on 63 sts., close in round and place 1 SM. Move the SM as you work.

Neck
From 1st to 4th round: rib 1/1.
Across the next round, place 4 SM to divide the panel in 4 sections and mark the increases; place every SM between one group of stitches and
the other one (section).
5th round: k14 for first half of back, place the 1st SM, k4 for first side, place the 2nd SM, k28 for the front, place the 3rd SM, k4 for the second side, place the 4th SM, k14 for the second half of back, move SMb and start next round as foll.:

First piece
Using size 6.5 mm points cont. in stocking st.
6th round: knit, moving the SM and SMb as you work.
7th round: * knit until next SM, yo (= 1 incr.) and move the SM on the yo * rep. from * to * 3 times more, knit until the end of round, move the SMb. [63 sts. 4 incr. = 67 sts.]
8th round: all sts. (yo included) in knit st., moving the SM and SMb.
9th round: all sts. in knit st., moving the SM and SMb.
Rep from 7th to 9th round 10 times more (= 24 cm in length). [11 repetitions with 4 increases each one = 107 sts.]
Note: after running out of the first ball of Merino Yak use the second one, whereas the ball of Cashsilk yarn is running out across last round. Cut Merino Yak yarn.

Second piece
Using double yarn (Merino yak col. 30 Cashsilk col. 3010) cont. in stocking st. in back-and-forth rows.
Begin from centre of left side (RS), then slip all sts. from right to left needle until 1st central st. of the raglan and work as foll.:
1st r. (RS): slip 1st st. k-wise (= selvage), knit all sts., turn.
2nd r. (WS): slip 1st st. p-wise (= selvage), purl all sts., turn.
Rep. the 1st and 2nd r. until 13 cm from beginning of second piece.

Using size 5 mm needles, for band shaping, work 3 r. rib 1/1, then, using size 6 mm needles, bind off all sts.
