STRIPED T-SHIRT

YARN = NATURA by LAINES DU NORD. Size S, M: 2 balls x col. 11; 1 ball x col. 12; 1 ball x col. 14. Size L: 3 balls x col. 11; 1 ball x col. 12; 1 ball x col. 14.
CIRCULAR NEEDLES = 3.5 mm and 4 mm tips, with an 80 cm cable.
OTHERS = stitch markers, darning needle, scissors, tape measure, waste yarn, 5 buttons.

SHARE:

Work the garment bottom up in flat knitting (= in back-and-forth rows), shaping raglan armholes. Pick up stitches at the end to create the button bands. The only seams are on the sleeves and underarms. Wear the garment with the button closure at the center back.

2x2 rib stitch, stockinette stitch.

Eyelet stitch flat:
R 1 (RS): knit all sts.
R 2 (WS): purl all sts.
R 3 (RS):*yo, skp *, rep ** to the end.
R 4 (WS): purl all sts.

Procedure

FINISHING

On the WS of the work, sew the sleeves and underarm seams. Sew the buttons onto the left button band at the center back, aligning them with the buttonholes. Weave in all ends. Wet and block. Wear!

BODY (front and back up to the armholes)

Using circular needles with 3.5 mm tips, an 80 cm cable and col. 11 yarn, cast on 192 (246 - 240) sts, placing 1 SM after 46 (53 -58) sts (for the left back and side), 1 SM after 10 (112 - 124) sts (for the front and side), leaving the last 46 (52 -58) sts for the right back. While working, move the SM up with each row.

Work the 2x2 ribbed band.

R 1 (RS): k3, p2, (k2, p2) rep to the last 3 sts, k3.

R 2 (WS): p3, k2, (p2, k2) rep to the last 3 sts, p3.

R 3 to 10: rep. r 1-2. In the last row, incr 1 st at the center back. [193 (217 - 241) sts]

Switch to 4 mm needles and cont in stockinette st, alternating with eyelet stitch, changing colors as foll:

R 1: with col 14, knit all sts.

R 2: with col 14, purl all sts.

R 3: with col 11, knit all sts.

R 4: with col 11, purl all sts.

R 5 (eyelet r): with col 11, k2, * yo, skp *, rep ** to the last 3 sts, yo, skp, k1.

R 6: with col 11, purl all sts.

R 7: with col 12, knit all sts.

R 8: with col 12, purl all sts.

R 9: with col 11, knit all sts.

R 10: with col 11, purl all sts.

R 11 (eyelet r): with col 11, k2, * yo, skp *, rep ** to the last 3 sts, yo, skp, k1.

R 12: using col 11, purl all sts.

R 13 to 71 (83-95): rep r 1 to 12 an additional 5 (5 -7) times, omitting r 12 in the last rep.

R 72 (84-96): with col 11, purl to 4 sts before the side SM, bind off 8 sts for the first armhole, purl to 4 sts before the second side, bind off 8 sts for the second armhole, then purl to the end.

Place all remaining sts on hold on waste yarn.





SLEEVES

Using circular needles with 3.5 mm tips, an 80 cm cable and col 11 yarn, cast on 61 (69 - 77) sts.

Work the 2x2 ribbed band.

R 1 (RS): (k2, p2) rep to the last st, k1.

R 2 (WS): p1, (k2, p2) rep to the end.

R 3 to 10: rep. r 1-2

Switch to 4 mm needles and cont in stockinette st, alternating with eyelet stitch and colors as foll:

R 1: with col 14, knit all sts.

R 2: with col 14, purl all sts.

R 3: with col 11 knit all sts.

R 4: with col 11, purl all sts.

R 5 (eyelet r): with col 11, k2, * yo, skp *, rep ** to the last 3 sts, yo, skp, k1.

R 6: with col 11 purl all sts.

R 7: with col 12 knit all sts.

R 8: with col 12 purl all sts.

R 9: with col 11 knit all sts.

R 10: with col 11 purl all sts.

Work the left front and top back as given, reversing all shaping.





COLLAR

Switch to 3.5 mm needles and col 11. Pick up 92 sts along the neckline and knit them. Then, cont working in 2x2 rib.

R 1: p3, k2, (p2, k2) rep to the last 3 sts, p3.

R 2: k3, p2, (k2, p2) rep to the last 3 sts, k3.

R 3-4: rep. r 1-2.

R 5: rep r 1.

R 6: bind off all sts.





BUTTON BANDS

Left side (without buttonholes)

Pick up 112 (120 -128) sts and knit them.

R 1: slip 1 st p-wise, p2, k2, (p2, k2) rep to the last 3 sts, p3.
