Always alternate different stitches and colors, taking care not to align two sections of the same color.

Stockinette stitch = alternate one row of knit and one row of purl for 18 rows.

Garter stitch = knit all rows for 24 rows.

Seed stitch = work 1 row alternating k1, p1, and across the next row alternate the stitches for 24 rows.

Rib 1:1 = work 1 row alternating k1, p1, and across the next row work the stitches as they appear.
