BASE

Chain 25 plus 1 to turn.

Using a stitch marker, mark the end of each round and, if necessary, each increase as well.

ROUND 1

Work 24 single crochets: one single crochet in each of the base chains, and in the 25th chain, work 3 single crochets to increase.

Continue working single crochets in the round along the opposite side of the base chains; work 3 single crochets in the last chain to increase.

ROUND 2

Continue working in single crochet all around, making 3 increases on both the right and left ends, corresponding to the 3 single crochets worked together in the previous round.

ROUND 3

Continue working in single crochet in each of the single crochets below, making 3 more increases close to the ones made in the previous round.

ROUND 4 TO ROUND 8

Continue as given for the previous rounds, continuing to make increases to shape the oval of the bag's base.

ROUND 9 TO ROUND 14

Continue all around in single crochets, without any increases.

End the round with 1 slip stitch.

LARGE 5-PETALS FLOWER (12 PIECES)

Chain 6 and close with 1 slip stitch shaping a ring.

ROUND 1

Chain 3 (counts as 1 double crochet).

Work 1 double crochet inside the ring.

Chain 5 (they shape an arch needed for the next round).

  • Work 3 double crochets inside the ring.
  • Chain 5.

Repeat the sequence until there are 5 arches.

End by working 1 double crochet inside the ring and close the round with a slip stitch.

ROUND 2

Work 1 single crochet, then:

  • Inside the arch shaped by the 5 chains of the previous round, work:
  • 1 half double crochet
  • 3 double crochets
  • 1 treble crochet
  • Chain 3, close into a ring with 1 slip stitch to shape a picot
  • 1 treble crochet
  • 3 double crochets
  • 1 half double crochet
  • Work 1 single crochet in the center double crochet of the previous round.

Repeat for all 5 aches until you get the 5 petals of the flower.

MEDIUM 8-PETALS FLOWER (6 PIECES)

Chain 6 and close with 1 slip stitch to shape a ring.

Repeat 8 times:

  • Chain 6.
  • Work 5 single crochets inside these chains.
  • Work 1 slip stitch inside the ring.

There are 8 petals.

SMALL 5-PETALS FLOWER (6 PIECES)

Chain 5 and close with 1 slip stitch shaping a ring.

Repeat 5 times:

  • Chain 4.
  • Work 3 single crochets inside these chains.
  • Work 1 slip stitch inside the ring.

There are 5 petals.

ASSEMBLING THE FLOWERS

After making the flowers:

  • Sew 6 large flowers in the lower row and 6 large flowers in the top row, aligned with each other.
  • In the middle section, in the spaces formed between the two rows of large flowers, sew the 6 medium flowers.
  • In the lowest part, near the area that will be sewn to the base of the bag, fill the spaces left by the large flowers of the first row with the small flowers.

After sewing all the flowers and securing the petals, you will have a rectangular strip that shapes the main part of the bag.

Join the strip onto itself in cylinder shape.

Sew the base to the bottom of the floral section, where the small flowers are located.

HANDLES (2 PIECES)

Chain 5 plus 1 to turn.

Work, in single crochets, a strip approx. 65 cm in length.

Sew the strip onto itself to shape a tubular handle.

Sew the two handles to the top of the bag cylinder, joining them with the large flowers of the second top row.

FINISHING

Using a fabric of your choice, sew the inner lining.
