10 x 10 cm = 20 stitches and 27 rows in stockinette stitch using size 4 mm tips

TENSION FOR THE SKIRT
10 x 10 cm = 22 stitches and 27 rows in stockinette stitch using size 3.5 mm tips

It is very important to check your gauge and measure the tension correctly to achieve the same results and measurements as the pattern. If the gauge is different, try adjusting the needle size up or down by half a size until you get the correct measurement.

Join in the round: slip first stich purl-wise from left to right needle, pass the last stich over the slipped stitch and drop it, pull the cast-on end tightening the stitch, place one SM (BOR) to mark the beginning and the end of the round; take care to move it at every round.

VEST












BACK:

Using waste yarn, size 4 mm tips and 80 cm cable, cast-on 44 (48 - 52 - 56) sts, then knit 2 rows and purl the third row.

Row 3 (RS) use Aran Tweed 2 Ply Kid Silk Nuance yarn: knit.

Row 4 (WS): p1, M1L, purl until the second-last stitch, M1R, k1.

Row 5: k1, M1L, knit until the second-last stitch, M1R, k1.

Repeat rows 4 and 5 until there are 72 (76 - 80 - 84) sts.












Work in Stockinette Stitch flat

Row 1 (RS): knit.

Row 2 (WS): purl.

Rep rows 1 and 2 reaching 23 cm in length.












Continue working the armhole increases:

Row 1 (RS): k1, M1L, knit until the second-last stitch, M1R, k1.

Row 2 (WS): purl.

Row 3: knit.

Repeat from row 1 to row 3, 5 more times. Total 84 (88 - 92 - 96) sts. Leave all stitches.












LEFT FRONT:

Restart working the neck towards the shoulder 14 (14 - 14 - 14) sts.

ARMHOLE:

Using size 3.5 mm tips and 80 cm cable, pick-up 124 (124 - 124 - 124) sts of the armhole.

Rib 1x1 in round:

Round 1 (RS): (k1, p1) rep until the end of the round.

Rep the round 1, 16 more times.

Fold inward, slip 1 stitch from the left needle to the right needle, insert the tip of the right needle through the inner stitch of the first round of the band, and knit them together.

Tie off the yarn.












Work the second armhole as given for first one

BAND:

Using size 3.5 mm tips and 150 cm cable, on RS, pick-up 268 sts from right front, neck, and left front.

Rib 1x1 flat:

Row 1(RS):(k1, p1) repeat until the end of the row

Row 2 (WS): (p1, k1) repeat until the end of the row

Rep row 1 and 2, 20 (24 - 28- 32) times.

Fold inward, slip 1 stitch from the left needle to the right needle, insert the tip of the right needle through the inner stitch of the first round of the band, and knit them together

Tie off the yarn.












FLAPS:

Starting from the 2x2 rib band, count 16 rows from bottom to top, at 10 cm from the band on the front of the vest. Pick up 20 stitches and work flat in rib 2x2, maintaining the same sequence as the bottom band of the vest:












Row 1 (RS):(k2, p2) repeat until the end of the row

Row 2 (WS): (p2, k2) repeat until the end of the row

Rep row 1 and 2, 8 times.

Bind off in pattern.

Using the darning needle, sew the sides.

Tie off the thread.























SKIRT

Shape the waistband: using waste yarn, size 3.5 mm tips and 80 cm cable, cast-on 140 (148- 156- 164) sts.

Row 1: knit

Join in the round and place one SM at beginning and end of the round.

Knit 14 rounds.

Switch to size 4 mm tips and knit 14 rounds.

Fold the band in half (WS against WS). Knit one st from needle and one st from waste yarn together, shaping the waistband.

Close the waistband almost completely and insert the elastic band.

Close the waistband.

Work the main part of the skirt:

Round 1: k70 (74-78- 82), place the SM, k70 (74- 78- 82), place the SM of beginning of the round and end of the round.

Round 2: M-SM, k35 (37 - 39 - 41), place the SM (SM 2 left side), k70 (74- 78- 82), place the SM (SM 3 right side), k35 (37 - 39 - 41), (SM 1).

For skirt shaping, start short-needles working.

Row 1 (RS): k6, turn.

Row 2 (WS): purl until 6 sts after the SM1, turn.

Row 3 (RS): knit until the SM1, k12, turn

Row 4 (WS): purl until 12 sts after the SM1, turn

Continuing as established, work 6 more stitches across every short row until a total of 4 extensions have been completed on each side.

After working the repetitions, knit one round.

SECTION 1:

Round 1: knit until 2 sts before the SM2, M1R, k4, M1L, knit until 2 sts before the SM3, M1R, k4, M1L.

Round 2: knit.

Round 3: knit

Round 4 knit

Repeat from round 1 to round 4, 4 times, total 156 (164 - 172 - 180) sts

SECTION 2:

Round 1: knit until 2 sts before the SM2, M1R, k4, M1L, knit until 2 sts before the SM3, M1R, k4, M1L.

From round 2 to round 8: knit.

Repeat from round 1 to round 8, 6 (6-6-6) times, total 180 (188 - 196 -204) sts.












Skirt length before the band: 30 (34 - 38 - 42) cm approx.












BAND:

Using size 4 mm needles, work the band in rib 2x2 in the round:

Round 1 (RS): (k2, p2) repeat until the end of the round

Repeat round 1 reaching 12 (12 - 12 - 12) cm in length or the desired length.

Bind off all sts loosely.












FINISHING: Remove the waste yarn from the cast-on, if it has not already been removed during work. Weave in all ends.
