BAG

Work the vest, top down (from top to bottom) in stocking st. in round.
The instructions below refer to sizes XS/S and M/L. The numbers before the brackets refer to sizes XS/S, while numbers between the brackets refer to sizes M/L.
Work the main part of bag in round from bottom to top in spiral. Place 1 SM into 1st st. of every round and move it upwards as you work. The handle consists of 2 parts. Work them in back-and-forth rows on 2 sides of bag and, at last, join them.
Use double yarn.
Rib 1/1 in round: (k1, p1) rep. across the entire r. and next r.
Rib in back-and-forth: across 1st r. (RS) alternate(k1 and p1), across next r. work the sts. as they appear.
Stocking stitch in round: knit every round.
Stocking stitch in back-and-forth: knit on RS, purl on WS.
Selvages: work first and last st. of every r. in garter st.
Chain stitch (ch), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc).

Procedure
CAST-ON THE COLLAR JOINING IN ROUND: slip 1st st. p-wise from left to right knitting needle, pass last st. over slipped st. and drop it, pull cast-on tail tightening the sts., place one SM to mark the beginning and end of the round, then move it upwards.
PATTERN
CAST-ON: for all sizes, cast-on 40 sts. 1 using size 12 mm knitting needles. Use 41st st. to join in round (as explained above).
From 1st to 3rd round: rib 1/1.
4th round: using size 15 mm knitting needles, cont. in stocking st. incr. 6 (10) sts. uniformly. [46 (50) sts.]
5th round: work 10 (11) sts. for first half of back, yo (increase), place 1st SM, work 3 sts. for shoulder, place 2nd SM, yo, work 20 (22) sts. for front, yo, place 3rd SM, work 3 sts. for shoulder, place 4th SM, yo, work 10 (11) sts. for second half of back.
6th round: knit (the yo in k-tbl).
7th round: knit
8th round: like 5th round.
9th round: work 11 (12) sts. for first half of back, work yo in k-tbl, remove the SM and bind off next 4 sts. (skp technique) beg. from 1st yo you have worked and binding off 5 sts. in all (right shoulder), work all sts. of front until 3rd yo, bind off next 5 sts. for left shoulder, at last work rem. 11/12 sts. Cut yarn and leave all sts of back part.
Cont. working 2 pieces separately, in back-and-forth r.
FRONT
Work the front sts. in stocking st. and leave the rem. sts. Purl 1st r. on WS, working 1 selvage at beg. and end of each r. At the end of 10th (12th) r. leave all sts.
BACK
Pick-up the sts. you have left at the end of 9th round and work 12 (14) r. as given for front. After working the back, for first armhole shaping, cast-on 4 (6) sts. Cont. in round (you must work on RS), pick-up the sts. of front and work in stocking st. For second armhole shaping, cast-on 4 (6) sts. and work all sts. of back. Measure the piece (from r. you have just worked) and cont. working 13 cm for all sizes. Using size 12 mm points, work 2 r. rib 2/2. At last, bind off all sts.
ARMHOLES: divide equally the remaining yarn.
Beginning from center under armhole, pick-up 30 (32) sts. around armhole uniformly, then work 2 rounds rib 1/1 and, at last bind off all sts. Work around second armhole as given for first one.
BAG
PATTERN
MAIN PART OF THE BAG
Using double fuchsia yarn, cast-on 16 ch 1 turning ch.
1st round: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 14 ch, 3 sc in last ch, turn and cont. on opposite side of base ch, then 1 sc in each of next 14 ch, 2 sc into the same base st. of beg. sc. Do not close the round and cont. in spiral. [20 sc]
2nd round: 16 sc, 2 sc in 2nd st. of 3-sc-group (corner), 16 sc, 2 sc in last sc of the round (central st. of 3-sts-group.). [36 sc]
3rd round: 17 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 17 sc, 2 sc in next sc. [38 sc]
From 4th to 12th round: 1 sc in each sc of the round. [38 sc]
At last work 1 sl st into 1st and 2nd sc of the round. Cut yarn and close, then hide the ends on WS.
Before working 2 parts of handle, prepare the panel as foll.:
flatten the bag, find central 4 sc of front and place 1 SM in 1st and 4th sc, rep. the same for back. There are 15 sts. on both side of 4 SM.
HANDLE
First part
1sr row: on RS, join yarn in 1st of 15 sts. after 4-sc-group market by 2 SM and fix it with 1 ch, 1 sc into the same st. of ch and in each of next 14 sc, 1 turning ch (do not count the turning ch).
2nd row: 15 sc, 1 turning ch.
3rd row: 6 sc, 2 sc tog., 7 sc, 1 turning ch. [14 sts.]
4th row: 6 sc, 2 sc tog., 6 sc, 1 turning ch. [13 sts.]
5th row: 6 sc, 2 sc tog., 5 sc, 1 turning ch. [12 sts.]
6th row: 5 sc, 2 sc tog., 5 sc, 1 turning ch. [11 sts.]
7th row: 5 sc, 2 sc tog., 4 sc, 1 turning ch. [10 sts.]
8th row: 4 sc, 2 sc tog., 4 sc, 1 turning ch. [9 sts.]

FINISHING
Using darning needle and tail, join the sts. of 15th row of both parts of handle.
Fold in half (inward) 12 central rows of handle (6 rows on both sides of previous seam), then join the edges of 12 rows closing in cylinder shape.
Hide the ends.
