Worked from the bottom up

Work 30 ch and join in the round with 1 1 sl st in the first ch, ensuring that the work is not twisted.

1° Round: 1 ch (doesn’t cout as 1a dc), 1 sc in the same st of the ch and in every ch to the end, join with 1 sl st in the 1a sc of the round [30 sc]

2° Round: 6 ch (count as 1a tr and 2 ch), 4 tr closed together in the next 4 sc, 2 ch, (1 tr in the next st., 2 ch, 4 tr closed together in the next 4 sc, 2 ch) 5 tims; 1 sl st in the 3a ch from the beginning. [6 tb, 6 groups of 4 tr closed together, 12 2ch-spaces]

3° Round: 3 ch (count as 1a dc here and further on), * 2 dc in back loop close together in the next 2 ch., skip 1 group, 1 dc in back loop in each of the next 2 ch, 1 dc in back loop in the next tr, 1 tr in back loop in each of the next 2 ch, skip 1 group, 1 dc in back loop in each of the next 2 ch, 1 dc in back loop in next tr *, rep from * to * 2 more times, omitting the dc in back loop in the last repetition; 1 sl st in the 3a ch from the beginning [27 sts including 3 ch of the beginning]

Once you have reached about 20 cm from the rib edge, before decreasing to shape the tip, try on the mitten and if necessary work 1 or 2 more rounds as above.

Next Round: 3 ch, 2 dc closed together in the next 2 sts, (1 dc in the next st, 2 dc closed together in the next 2 sts) 9 times; 1 sl st in the 3a ch from the beginning [20 sts]

Next Round: 2 ch and 1 dc closed together in the first 2 sts, (2 dc closed together in the next 2 sts) 9 times; 1 sl st in the 3a ch from the beginning [10 sts]

Last Round: 1 ch and 1 sc closed together in the first 2 sts, (2 sc closed together in the next 2 sts) 4 times; 1 sl st in the 3a ch from the beginning [5 sts]

Cut the yarn and close, leaving a long tail.

Insert the tapestry needle with the bind-off thread and pass it through the sts. of the last round, pull the thread to tighten the sts. and close the central hole, then hide between the sts. the remaining thread.


Thumb
